Literally Speaking....
Will is VERY literal. We now know that because of Asperger Syndrome his brain is wired differently that other's brains. Figure of speech is almost always lost on him, for example, a few weeks ago Ellie was tickling Jack and he was laughing/screaming and I said "sounds like he's being tortured", Alarmed, Will dropped everything and went running. I then explained that I was just kidding. On Tuesday at Speech Therapy, Miss Cindy was working with Will to understand how other people think and she had pictures on the board of "Grandma walking Lucy." Miss Cindy asked Will what Grandma would think if she saw Will walking up the street towards her? Will's reply was, "I don't walk to my Grandma's house!" Classic Will response! We love our Mr. Literal! :)

I am all so well aware of our children being literal! Esp with twins - one being asperger's and the other NT -- It's like trying to raise the boys in two totally different worlds! I will continue to check back with ya! Check out our blogs also at myviewofaspergers.blogspot.com (my sons) and parentingaspergers.blogspot.com
